Barovier and Toso Murano Chandelier, Italian Design, 1940s

Based in Murano, cradle of the Italian and world glass production, Barovier & Toso is one of the most appreciated and ancient Maison for artistic glass in the Venice Laguna. Due to the complex manufacturing and sophisticated techniques, the works in Murano glass have been for a long time impossible to imitate for the rest of the world: this chandelier is a perfect example of glass art in 1940s, with its twisted fine glass (called Treccia) and with cups embellished with micro glass drops called Rugiada. The shape of the chandelier recalls a fountain, with water dropping from the ceiling and naturally falling down bringing freshness and light to the room. The elegance of the Murano glass is incomparable and this original piece from Venice is something every beauty lover will appreciate.
